School

I’ve completed my observation at Sandilands Primary. It is located on Bernard Road, Sandilands Village, and is

Elementary School. The building is painted yellow and green. The environment was clean and a bit noisy. The student body attitudes are respectful, and their diversity is mixed.

Administration

The administrators dress appropriately. They treated their teachers with respects, and their attitude was the same. Their attitude towards me as a prospective teacher was relentless.

Staff

The Staff dressed appropriately. The attitude towards administration and teachers was respectful. Their attitudes towards the students were stern. Their attitude towards me was appreciative.

Classroom

The classroom was average size. There were charts all over the classroom and bulletin boards. The theme of the class was “Minions”.Their ritual was having assembly every Monday mornings. If not, they would stay in class and do morning devotions.

Teachers

The teacher role was to impart her knowledge to the students. Her responsibility was to ensure that all students understand the concept, and know do a family factor tree. She spoke Standard English. He believed that all students can do their best. Her teaching method was allowing some students to go up to the board and complete a family factor. She dressed appropriately. Her relationship with the students wasn’t too close.

Students in the Classroom

The students’ responsibility was to pay attention to the teacher to learn. There were 23 students in class. The students were all prepared for class. Their behavior was great towards each other and the teacher. They all were enthusiastic.

Overall Impression of the School

I felt very comfortable in that school. I think it was a great visit. I learnt that children are very enthused when it comes to doing group assignments in primary schools. Most of all I liked the way the students cooperate in their group assignments. The coolest thing I remembered was watching a little boy completing a assignment on the board and he didn’t even bothered to use his fingers, he used his head to answer his question. I was so amazed to see that little boy does that.
