School

I’ve completed my observation at C.I. Gibson Senior High School. It is located on Marathon Road, and is Secondary School. The building is painted yellow and green. The environment was clean and a bit noisy. The student body attitudes are disrespectful, and their diversity is mixed.

Administration

The administrators dress appropriately. They treated their teachers with respects, and their attitude was the same. Their attitude towards me as a prospective teacher was relentless.

Staff

The Staff dressed appropriately. The attitude towards administration and teachers was respectful. Their attitudes towards the students were stern. Their attitude towards me was appreciative.

Classroom

The classroom was average size. There were charts all over the classroom and bulletin boards. Their ritual was having assembly every Monday mornings. If not, they would stay in class and do morning devotions.

Teachers

The teacher role was to impart her knowledge to the students. His responsibility was to ensure that all students understand the concept, and know how to spell words. He spoke Standard English. He believed that all students can do their best. His teaching method was allowing all students to participate in a worksheet. He dressed appropriately. His relationship with the students was close.

Students in the Classroom

The students’ responsibility was to pay attention to the teacher to learn. There were 24 students in class. The students were all prepared for class. Their behavior was rude towards each other. The boys were all answer the question, but the girls were playing cute on the other side of the class.

Overall Impression of the School

I didn’t feel comfortable in that school. I think it was a pleasant visit. I learn how to find the decimal for a percent and a fraction for a decimal in a different way. Most of all I liked the way the teacher went about with answering his students’ questions. The coolest thing I remembered was watching the way the teacher explained every question to the students.
